These terms explain how we work with clients. Every project is confirmed with a written fee proposal. If the fee proposal and these terms differ, the fee proposal applies.
Quotes and fee proposals
Every project is quoted on its own. Your fee proposal sets out the scope of work, the stages, the number of revision rounds included, the fees and when they are payable. Work outside the agreed scope is quoted separately before we start it.
What we do, and what we don't
Zen Drafting Studio provides residential drafting, building design documentation, 3D renders and feasibility advice. We prepare drawings for lodgement with a council or certifier, but approval decisions rest with the council or certifier. We can't guarantee an approval, a particular outcome or an approval timeframe.
Where specialist input is needed (for example surveying, structural or civil engineering, BASIX or NatHERS assessment, bushfire, flood, arborist or heritage reports), it is provided by separate consultants, either engaged by you or coordinated by us as agreed in the fee proposal.
Your information
Our drawings rely on the information provided to us, including surveys, title documents and your instructions. Please let us know as soon as possible if anything changes.
Turnaround and our turnaround promise
Once the design is confirmed, our standard turnaround for each drawing round is 48–72 hours from design confirmation, or the turnaround agreed in writing for your project. Many rounds come back sooner, in as little as 24 hours, but the 48–72 hour window is the turnaround our promise applies to. If we miss the agreed turnaround, that round is free.
- The turnaround starts when the design has been confirmed in writing and we have everything we need for that round.
- "That round is free" means we won't charge the fee for that revision round.
- It doesn't apply to delays caused by waiting on information, consultants, councils or certifiers, or by changes to the brief during the round.
Revisions
Your fee proposal sets out how many revision rounds are included. Further rounds, or changes after a stage has been signed off, may be charged as additional work. We'll always tell you before any additional fee applies.
Payments
Fees are payable as set out in your fee proposal and invoices. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law are not affected by these terms.
Copyright
We own the copyright in the drawings we prepare. Once fees are paid, you have a licence to use them for the project and site they were prepared for, including lodgement and construction.
Cancellation
You can end the engagement at any time by letting us know in writing. Fees are payable for work completed up to that point.
